Playground Restoration Projects

Benton Playground- A majority of the work at Benton Park is complete. The old tennis courts have been ripped up and replaced with a new 2-5-years-old playground. The Kimball Street fence still needs to be installed along with a fence separating the two playgrounds. In Spring/Summer 2023, the basketball court will need to be crack-filled and sealed.

Carpentier Park- The work at the park was projected to cost around $330,000, with the LWCF grant paying for half and the City contributing the rest in matching funds. However, due to federal requirements that all materials must be made in the USA, the project may take more time and be costlier than expected. The project will likely be done in phases. The plan for the park includes a Splash Pad, two new playgrounds, improved lighting, new plantings, and more accessible parking. A fence along High St. with improvements to the entries at High St. and Moulton Ct. is also planned.

Springvale Park- The Springvale Playground is in good condition. In the coming years, the park will need fence work and work on the skatepark.

Holdsworth Park- The playground and park are in good condition. The City is looking into adding an additional playground.
