PLANNING YOUR WEDDING IN MAINE BROUCHURE
This pamphlet is designed to assist you in planning your marriage ceremony. It contains valuable information that you need to know to ensure that your marriage plans go smoothly. The information applies to residents and nonresidents.
REQUEST COPY OF MARRIAGE LICENSE
$15 for 1st copy, $6 for each additional copy requested at the same time.
MARRIAGE INTENTIONS FORM
Once the marriage intentions have been filed, a marriage license may be issued and is valid for 90 days from the date the intentions were filed. Each party to the intended marriage shall complete the license by appearing in person before the municipal clerk or State Registrar to sign the certification statement on the marriage license. Do not sign the Marriage Intentions Form (PDF) prior to coming into the City Clerk's Office. Signatures need to be notarized.
The Wedding Officiant must return the marriage license to the issuing authority who issued the license within 7 days after the ceremony was performed.
