PATROL DIVISION
The Patrol Division is the largest and most visible division of the police department. Patrol is responsible for providing police services to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS
School Resource Officers (SROs) have become an integral part of communities across the nation and around the world. Schools are smaller communities within the overall community and because of the concentration of children staff and parents in one location; it only makes sense to provide them with law enforcement services on a regular and reliable basis.

SPECIAL RESPONSE TEAM
The Sanford Police Department is a partner agency in the Southern Maine Special Response Team (SRT). This group is comprised of police officers and emergency medical services personnel from 12 different municipalities and law enforcement agencies in York County.

SUPPORT SERVICES
The Sanford Police Department's Support Services Division is comprised of a Lieutenant, Detectives, School Resource Officers, Mental Health Unit, Animal Control, and Court Officer. The Detectives are tasked with Major Crimes and crimes committed against persons or property in Sanford and cyber crimes.
