OBJECTS IN THE RIGHT OF WAY
Objects along roadways pose can hazard for drivers and maintenance crews. Please review this policy and help our crew safe. 

PARKING BAN POLICY
It is the responsibility of all residents and non-residents to be aware of parking bans in the City of Sanford/Village of Sanford. Tickets will not be voided due to the fact that residents were not aware of the parking ban. 

PUBLIC WORKS NOTICES
Please check this page for information about current parking bans, street painting/sweeping notices, and transfer station closures. Notices will also be posted to the City of Sanford, ME Facebook Page.

PAVEMENT MARKINGS & PLACEMENT 
Road painting activities usually last from mid-April through the end of fall (sometimes into November). Your first line of defense to avoid paint getting on your vehicle is to heed the warnings and follow the instructions outlined on MaineDOT's painting vehicles. Allow plenty of space between you and the painting vehicle.

POTHOLES
Please call in all potholes to (207) 324-9135 x 1. The use of email is not intended for the reporting of roadway defects and SHALL NOT CONSTITUTE NOTICE as it cannot be assured that the email will be promptly received by the City’s Employees.  If you have a concern about a roadway defect (such as a pothole) or an immediate infrastructure issue that needs to be addressed in Sanford or Springvale, please call the Department of Public Works at (207) 324-9135 x 1 from Monday – Thursday between the hours of 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. 

RUBBISH DISPOSAL POLICIES
If the rules for disposing of waste/debris at the Sanford transfer station are violated, dumping privileges may be revoked.

Please review to help ensure that vehicular and pedestrian traffic have a safe winter. 

PLACEMENT OF TEMPORARY SIGNS
Please find a link above to a letter from the State Traffic Engineer.  The letter details where and when temporary signs can be placed.  Notable restrictions include but are not limited to: not on utility poles, not in the roundabout, not on traffic control devices, and not on trees in the Right-of-Way.  Please review the letter for complete information.
